Full dentures
A full denture replaces all the teeth in one jaw. We make it to measure, fit it carefully and keep adjusting it until it feels right.
When is a full denture the right choice?
If all the teeth in one jaw have been removed, or will be soon, a full denture gives your mouth back its shape and function.
- You no longer have any natural teeth in your upper or lower jaw
- Your current denture is worn, loose or no longer looks good
- You want to eat, talk and smile normally again
- You want the denture to suit your face, not the other way around
Frequently asked questions
What you can expect
How is a new denture made?
At a first consultation we look at your mouth and talk about what you would like. Then we take a precise impression, choose the teeth together, record your bite and do a try-in. Only when everything feels right do we make the final denture.
How long does it take before I have my denture?
Expect four to six appointments over a few weeks. In between we make the denture, and at each appointment we fine-tune it further.
Can I have a say in how my teeth will look?
Of course. You choose the color, shape and position of the teeth together with us. If you have an old photo of yourself smiling, please bring it along. At the try-in you see the result and can still change your mind.
Does it hurt?
Making a denture does not hurt. The first days of wearing it can feel strange, and sore spots may appear. We adjust the denture for those free of charge.
Can I eat with it right away?
Start with soft food and small pieces. After a few weeks you get used to it and can eat almost anything again. Very hard or sticky food will stay tricky.
How long does a denture last?
Six to eight years on average. Your jaw slowly changes shape, so the denture gradually becomes looser. A yearly checkup keeps track of that.
